The Vagueness of the Spiritual Path is Often a Huge Obstacle to Overcome

 

The spiritual path is vague af.

Either we don't know how to bring into reality the idea(s) we have, or there are too many ideas all fighting for dominance that we can't concentrate on the one or two that are most resonate and vital. 

Often what the mystical person is trying to create, doesn't have a correlation to an existing profession. We're not trying to be "spiritual dentists" (unless you ARE - I'm not here to say no).

I mean, take me for example…


What the ever-loving fuck is the High Priestess of Holy Sh!t?

The Abba of the Unshushable? The Church of Beloved Presence??? The non-religious mystic witch is starting a CHURCH - WTF?

I know mostly what it is and what I do - but it's harder to translate to other people and create it from scratch for myself. 

 
 
**EDIT** from several years later and after 2 years of transpersonal classwork - I can definitely attest that healing our “Suspicions of Self” will fundamentally change how we understand ourselves and our purpose for being here - AND how we can best bring our gifts into the world. Imagine - healing and coming into oneness with Self makes everything more clear. LOL.

There's no A to B pathway of education and training to become whatever we want to become in a mystical visionary world. There's no step by step pathway laid out by school guidance counsellors to show us what workshops to sign up for and what books to read and what activities to focus on. 

There is no prep class to teach us how to ace the entrance exam to Hogwarts or Brakebills.

This process is vague and murky.

It's like crossing a creek barefoot and feeling our way forward before committing the weight of our body, just in case there's a rock or glass or something weird in front of us. 

 

Connect to Your Witch Wisdom

You are already wise af - find out what you’re not telling yourself.

 

Most of this work is getting to know ourselves and allowing what isn't us to fall away - even if it felt good. Each step can take months or sometimes years and we learn about how to navigate this world from the point of mystic vision and intuition. 

This process cannot be pushed either.

Push it before it's ready and we follow partial and wrong answers into the weeds until we realize we're lost. 

It's all worth it, don’t get me wrong - we must fall off the path to recognize the path. All experience is good experience. Nothing is wasted, it is all okay.

— ACIM says there is no "off the path" because we can't ever be outside of Wholiness of Creation, we can't only forget. Or misunderstand.
 

The reality is, is that we’re never “off the path”. It’s impossible. Our path is our path, wherever that path is, and we are in exactly the right place, doing exactly what we need to do, to learn what we need to learn to come into Wholiness with Creation. We are either judging ourselves as “off the path” or we are accepting ourselves as we are. Right now. No qualifications.

Do not push. This process of becoming takes time. Learn first to connect and know the self and learn how to "feel" for the right answer.


Our Body is the Barometer, Compass and the Boat

Not only is there no pre-made path for us, we're using tools that aren't even acknowledged in our education system. They're not accepted or acknowledged by those in science who claim to know what reality is. 

We are using intuition, mystic and visionary senses, dreams and day dreams and wonderings and hunches to find our way. 


We are using our body as a tuning fork, and like any tool, we need to learn how to use it. Western society is shit at promoting the body as information source. 

 

We are sedentary, eat bad food, are exterior focused with TV, movies, games and the internet. We are also highly "efficient-focused", so sitting down and letting our minds wander (“doing nothing”) is considered a waste of time. 

Day dreaming is punished and being bored is avoided by filling our time with chores or games or any attention-grabbing screen within arms length. 

Every bit of Western life, especially for children, is so scheduled and filled with classes and experiences, play dates, and events that there is no chance to get in touch with our body or day dream or get bored and allow an alternative information connection to take root in our cells. 

Grounding 

We're familiar with being grounded, we know it often in context of emotional freak outs and losing our cool or getting anxious about events. 

Grounding though is the number one most important state to be in when living any life, let alone a mystic visionary path. It's not something that is done once and never needs to be addressed again. Grounding is a state that we cycle in and out of daily. Grounded is a state of being present to the moment and ourselves in a body in that moment. Mindfulness is grounding. We cannot be ungrounded when our attention is focused on what is, right now. We should strive to be aware of right now, more often. If we forget, everything just gets all clogged up and blocked again. 

Grounding doesn't take a lot to do, but it can feel really uncomfortable. Especially in the beginning.

The first time I did the exercise below I vomited. I was literally expelling toxic goop that I was unaware I was holding. 

Beware, maybe have a bucket near you. :D

 
 

Grounding:

Try not be put off by the discomfort - it holds a learning at it's core.

  • stand with feet shoulder width apart

  • push feet against floor like you're trying to break the ground

  • imagine it's a concrete tile that you are trying to break in half by pressing down with your feet

  • relax your body and allow the energy to move through you

  • repeat until you feel the energy running up and down your legs - legs may feel like jelly and jittery

Another more advanced option below. You may choose to begin this practice with arms laying loosely at your sides.

 
 

Grounding and taking time to breath and be aware and listen to the body is 100% the right direction, 100% of the time, for anyone walking this new (or old) vague and mystic path.

This isn't something that happens once.

Grounding is a habit that needs to be honed day after day - to remind us to stay grounded and stay aware and awake and paying attention to what our body is saying.
