Shekhinah
Shekinah, illustrated as… smoke. Oooh, so glorious.
**All the Gods and Goddesses represented should be taken as gender neutral. There is no inherent male or female separation between them as the energies, characteristics and wisdoms discussed are available to all regardless of gender.**
Shekhinah is the glory of divinity expressed through the material world. She is the experience of divine presence in the flowers and the trees and the rocks and the wind and the birds and the cats and the butterflies and the bees and the cockroaches and the cars and the smoke and the radiation and the sickness and the death here on Earth.
Shekhinah is part of the Kabbalah tradition of mystic Judaism. Kabbalah holds the wonderful analogy of flesh being like a stained glass that is being shone through by the light of god.
If your glass is clear, the light of god shines through the flesh of your existence into the world in all the brilliance and glory of the creator. Sadly, most of us don’t have clear glass flesh. We have flesh that is soiled by our wrong thoughts, judgements, misunderstandings, hatreds, insecurities, angers, ignorance and all the hundreds of myriad ways that we don’t get it right while we’re alive on Earth.
It’s okay. Shekhinah is when we do.
Ask a question…
Know yourself. It’s the only task that’s required.
Shekhinah, is when we see the spiral of seeds in the head of a sunflower is the same as the fibonacci sequence which is the same as the spiral of the universe.
They are the same. Shekhinah will always bring you back to the oneness of it all.
Thou art that.
Shekhinah is the recognition of god in the face of a stranger.
If Shekhinah has shown up in your life, you are ready for the big truths.
You are ready to start living the beliefs that you’ve been learning. You are ready to take the meaning of your beliefs and apply them to everyday life. Shekhinah is a beautiful and difficult goddess energy to work with for this exact reason. It requires a diligence and a presence to be here now, and be aware of and re-align yourself to the reality that everything is an expression of divinity, at all times, even when they’re getting your coffee order wrong at the Starbucks. Even when there’s a fool in office, even when someone is a jerk.
Shekhinah asks, how do you allow god to live in the world?
Shekhinah is associated with The World card in the tarot deck. It is the last card of the Major Arcana deck which suggests a completion of a cycle.
Shekhinah is literally the glory of god out in the world.
The cycle of learning and making the connections and thinking is finished. The cycle about to begin is taking what you know to be true about divinity in the world and live that in all areas of your life to the best of your ability.
Shekhinah is the expression of god in the material world. You too are an expression of god in the material world.
How do you live that?
How do you go forward in life and embrace that truth while you also hold the truth that there is suffering and death here?
Shekhinah is here to walk with you through the big questions. You may have already considered all the questions - you may be ready for this. You may not have considered any of this - but Shekhinah will be knocking on your door asking you to come walk in the garden please.
You have always been prone to thinking about the world and your place in it. Shekhinah would rarely tap someone who wasn’t ready to have these conversations.
Unlike Aphrodite, who is focused on the physical world and shows her worship of divinity through the physical senses, Shekhinah is the expression of all the bodies finally manifest in the physical world. Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical.
Shekhinah asks that you take everything that you’ve learned and believe about existence and begin to live it like you believe it. Live it like we’re all connected. Live your life and interact and respond like everything you’ve always believed about god is true.
Dig deeper…
Book an hour reading and get the clarity you need to move forward into your best life.
You’ve probably had inclinations to start doing different things, speaking truth in different ways, being less agreeable, speaking up when you’d previously let it slide. Maybe you’re wanting to shift things in your life so that your time and your attention is spent focused on those things that you believe in and not what those around you think are important.
This is the arrival of Shekhinah.
She is the door in the world that says yes it’s true.
Yes it’s real. Yes, you just have to make a change. Yes, your life can be different, yes, it’s all been real this whole time. Yes, people have always known this knowledge, it just seems really radical so it doesn’t get out much.
You have probably felt yourself that you’re not fulfilling your whole purpose on this planet. You are probably insightful and intuitive.
People are often drawn or repelled by you because you’re just a little bit off the normal scale. You’ve read too much and make too many connections and think too long and too often about the philosophy of existence to just be an average joe.
You intrigue those who are not afraid to know themselves and know the truth about the world. You repel those that are comfortable in what they know and don’t want someone like you upsetting their apple cart with your bigger questions and larger meanings.
When Shekhinah arrives she’s asking you to live your fullest truth out in the world.
It’s scary, but it’s necessary. Especially at this time. We’re in a period of shift, a period of human evolution - and we need all the people who have been doing the heavy emotional, mental and spiritual lifting to start bringing that energy into the world in a very real way.
We can’t hold it in for the “right time”.
The time is now.
It’s time to start living and speaking and being the divine creatures on earth that we were born to be.
Shekhinah is here to show you how.
